Hello !

Today I’m writing an article that means a lot to me: I’m taking you on a tour in our living room that we spent so much time refurbishing and decoration. Taking the photos of this room was the conclusion of so many hours of work and a big accomplishment for us. As you might already know, we have since moved out of the UK, and the house is rented empty. So it’s a bittersweet feeling to look at them for me as this room « no longer exist » and it’s the turning page of our lives in London.

Anyway, let’s not get too emotional, we will have other opportunities and focus on what we have accomplished ! As you can see we love navy blue, which was in the living room and a deeper teal-blue was in the kitchen.

The fireplace was brown with flowery tiles when we bought the place and the walls were yellow ok pee yellow. It also had carpet, so we took it off and renovated the nice wooden floor that was underneath.

Monsieur made the shelves from Ikea shelves and also the desk, I took care of the prints and the photo walls, and also painting the blue/gold dresser that we found secondhand at the British heart fondation.

We have had our Giraffe since 2015 and it was in all of our appartments, we thought it would be its final spot but we were wrong as it’s now somewhere in a storage box !

We mainly shop at Ikea ( yellow chair, desk, diner table, shelves, photo frames, desk lamp, candle holders, gold lamp shade, stripes rug, chandelier) and also Made.com for the blue velvet sofa, the coffee table, blue lamp shade. And Amazon for the chairs, Homesense for the Eiffel tower lamp.

I can’t wait to get all the furniture back, we will move into our definitive home at the end of January and style them again in a different house, we are currently looking for a house to rent outside of the city of Luxembourg in the countryside.

Voici un article tant attendu sur la renovation de notre maison londonienne: le salon. La pièce à vivre par excellence avec sa cheminée et sa « bow window » typique des maisons victoriennes. Ces photos sont pour nous l’accomplissement de tout le travail que nous avons entrepris dans cette maison, notre première maison, celle où nous avons accueilli notre petit bébé dans le froid de Janvier.

Comme certains d’entres vous le savent déjà, nous avons quitté le Royaume- Uni depuis le 4 Novembre à cause du Brexit et nous vivons désormais au Luxembourg. Ces photos refletent donc une maison qui « n’existe plus » car elle est désormais louée et nous avons amené nos meubles. Il était important pour moi de garder des photos souvenirs de notre salon, notre pièce à vivre cosy à souhaits avec sa cheminée au gaz que nous avons allumé de temps en temps.

Pour arriver à ce résultat nous avons dû arracher les moquettes, poncer le planché d’origine en bois, refaire les joints et ensuite protéger le tout par un vernis. Nous avons repeint les murs en bleu marine et blanc, ajouter une mini cloison sur le mur entre les deux parties pour pouvoir poser des étagères.

La cheminée était en carreaux fleuris et en bois marron vernis, je l’ai repeinte pendant les dernières jours de mon congé maternité.
