I’ve been so quite on this blog since the birth of baby A, it’s so hard to keep up blogging with a full time job and a baby !

We have a major announcement to make: We are leaving the UK ! After 4 years here, having a baby and buying a house, we have to move because of Brexit. My husband’s company is relocating so we are moving at the end of October.

The good news is that I will have more time to take care of Augustin as I won’t be working right away after the move. It might also mean more time here as well !

I’ve been preparing this article for a while, when we finished refurbishing our house and specially his little bedroom. Today is a good day to share it as I’m excited to show you what we’ve done inside the house.

As soon as I got pregnant and also before I was already making all kind of baby stuff.
I had a lot of pins in my Pinterest board for nursery. Because I didn’t want a nursery that was too girly or boyish, I didn’t wait to find the gender to start making things.
My color board was yellow, grey and white as much as possible.
Augustin’s room is very tiny, I’m not even sure it’s considered a room in France, but it should be enough for him to explore.
We have redone the flooring, took out some suspended ceiling, painted the walls and made custom cabinets. All done by my new DIY husband and father.

I had so much fun decorating it ! I wanted to avoid plastic as much as I could and work with natural material that I can keep for the following baby.

The fabric that inspired me had toucans and was a soft grey/white with a touch of yellow. I work from this and make few items using the fabric as a touch as I didn’t have much of it and didn’t want to overdo the nursery with a theme.

My dear friend Laura made the drawing from the fabric and it such a nice thing to have there.
We made the wooden shelve from a piece of wood I found in the park and hand knitted pieces by his babouschka are displayed.

The changing basket is also handmade, I cut a moise basket that I found in the street and covered the bottom with a towel that we can change if needed.
The pompon on it are matching the color scheme.
Mirror and door knobs are from Zara home and the baskets were found at Homesense.
On our changing station we also have Bambino Mio washable nappies, I use them mainly during the weekend and evenings, trying to go green as much as we can.
I use handmade piece of towel fabric to clean his baby bum so I can wash them as well with the nappies.

The Augustin sign was a gift from my husband’ bestfriend, handmade as well. And the mobile is one of my creation, I scanned the fabric in order to get it in a digital version and made some Tsuru with it. I remind me a lot of my wedding when I made hundreds of them !

I hope you enjoy this little tour of the room, it wasn’t near ready when Augustin was born and I’m glad we finally finish it. I will do an update on his big baby room as we just switch his moose’s basket to a Montessori floor bed.

Cela fait bien longtemps que je n’ai pas pris le temps d’écrire sur ce blog, ma vie de maman et femme active est bien remplie ! Le petit Augustin grandi bien et nous fait bien rire avec ses découvertes journalières du monde qui l’entoure.

J’avais préparé cet article avec sa chambre de bébé depuis un moment et il tombe bien pour vous annoncer que nous quittons le Royaume-Uni suite au Brexit. C’est une décision qui a été un peu dure pour nous puisque nous venions de nous installer dans notre maison en décembre dernier et après avoir fait tous nos travaux, nous mettons la maison en location et partons pour de nouvelles aventures.

Alors voilà la chambre de notre Augustin, une chambre de bébé aux couleurs neutres et à la déco fait main. J’avais commencé à rêver de son petit espace dès que j’ai su que j’étais enceinte, avant même d’avoir acheté la maison. Je voulais des couleurs discrètes et pas forcement de bleu, plutôt un jaune moutard et gris souris.

Je suis souvent inspirée par un tissu et cette fois-ci il s’agit de ce tissu toucan trouvé chez Toto lorsque j’avais gagné le concours Louis Antoinette. J’y avais utilisé mon bon d’achat et notamment pour ce tissu.

Cette chambre est très petite, elle ne serait même pas considérée comme une chambre en France, mais elle a beaucoup de charme. Nous avons refait les parquets, cassé le faux plafond hideux qui y avait, repeint les murs et le super papa à fabriquer ce meuble à langer sur mesure et le portique pour bébé. Le panier à langer est un couffin en osier récupéré dans la rue, coupé et customisé avec des pompoms fait main. L’étagère vient de chez Ikea et nous avons vissé un morceau de bois trouvé au parc pour en faire une suspension de ses petits tricots. Les tricots en fait main et avec amour par ses grands-mères ou arrières grands-mères.

Les boutons de porte et le miroir en bambou viennent de chez Zara home et les panières diverses viennent de Homesense. Sur notre table à langer nous avons les couches lavables Bambino Mio que nous aimons utiliser depuis quelques mois déjà. Il y a aussi des lingettes lavables que j’ai faites avec les chutes de tissu éponge, la poubelle en fer blanc nous serre pour le linge souillé, je met quelques gouttes d’huile essentielle de Tea Tree dedans entre les machines.

Le joli dessin toucan a été fait par ma copine Laura qui s’est inspiré du fameux tissu, je l’ai aussi utilisé pour le mobile qui est au dessus du panier à langer.

Le prénom en tricotin nous a été offert par le copain JB, et a lui aussi été fait main. Les tours de couffin sont aussi handmade, et le couffin récupéré dans la rue !

Voilà pour cette petite chambre de bébé récup’ et faite main, il ne dort plus dans son couffin mais dans un lit au sol montessori, je vous montrerai sa future chambre de grand bébé plus tard dans notre prochain logemement !
