Make me your princess again – Envie d’être ta princesse une dernière fois

As I previously mentioned in my last article we spent a weekend in Copenhagen for Valentine day but I didn’t tell you the whole story ! I asked my husband to « make me a princess again » for my Christmas gift. I was dreaming about a wedding photoshoot in the snow with the colored houses of the Danish harbor and my white princess dress. Because my husband is a nice guy, he made my wish come true !

So he contacted Sla our amazing photographer to get things set up before our arrival. We met in Christiansthavn on Saturday morning and you can imagine how excited I was when I woke up and we had fresh snow in the streets !! I wanted to wear my dress again because I felt we didn’t have proper couple pictures on the wedding day with the second dress ( you can read the article here about my wedding dress(es)). So I took this photoshoot as an opportunity to wear it again, it took us about 1h, enough to get nice photos it was not too long so we weren’t freezing. As my dress was sleeveless I had to figure out how to add sleeves to it without changing it too much. I decided to wear a white Lacey top under the dress and made few stitches so it will be fixed together. I bought several tops in H&M tried it and returned the one that didn’t match the color of the dress. I also wanted a white faux fur collar, and found it during the winter sales. It was perfect to keep my shoulders warm.

Sla was so good at directing us and making us feel comfortable and confident. She’s used to help couple feel good on their photos, and it was quick for us to get into it. I bought the suit for Monsieur during the Christmas sales, that was part of my Christmas present: Goodwood revival ticket and a burgundy suit to wear there. But that will be next September so we will talk about it later ! The suit is from …. Primark and I really didn’t pay much for it… I can’t tell you how cheap it was ah ah .. I wasn’t quite sure if he would like the color or if it would suit him, so for that price it was ok for him to wear it once. He actually like it and consider of buying a « real » suit of this color !

We had fun shooting and I will treasure those photos forever ! It was very cold but I was so happy to wear my dress again, even though it was all stained and dirty afterward. For those of your who will get married soon or just go married I highly suggest you do a pat wedding photoshoot, as a couple gift, get back in your dress and do something fun with it ! Those photos are more relaxed than the one of the big day ! And of course if you want to get photos taken in Copenhagen Sla is your girl ! I now feel I did it all for my wedding, the 4 in 1 dress, the summer and the warmth on my skin, and now I have experienced the snow and cold, in my lover’s arms. I keep the last part in my closet, the short version of my dress, and who knows, maybe I’ll have other ideas for that 😉

Voici la suite de mon article précédent sur notre week-end au Danemark pour la saint Valentin, je ne vous ai pas tout dit… lors de ce week-end en amoureux, j’ai pu avoir mon cadeau de Noël: je voulais que monsieur fasse de moi une princesse, une dernière fois avant de ranger ma robe au placard. C’est donc accompagnés de Sla notre photographe que j’ai pu réaliser mon souhait. Et vous n’imaginez pas ma surprise quand j’ai ouvert mes volets le matin et qu’il avait neigé la nuit. Je voulais porter la robe numéro 2 car le jour de notre mariage tout s’est passé vite et j’ai profité de ma première robe mais comme la seconde était pour le repas, j’ai moins de photos avec, et peu avec monsieur, on n’arrêtait pas de bouger partout !

Ma robe était bustier et il n’était pas pensable de rester dehors une heure dans le froid sans manches, du coup j’ai cherché des idées pour lui rajouter de longues manches en dentelle. Comme je ne voulais pas coudre dessus ( je garde la base courte pour cet été !) j’ai cherché dans les magasins des tops en dentelle que je pouvais glisser en dessous. J’en ai trouvé 3 chez H&M et j’ai gardé celui dont la dentelle allait le mieux avec la teinte de la robe. Le boléro blanc a été trouvé en 2ième démarque de solde et c’était parfait pour me réchauffer les épaules !

Pour ce qui est de monsieur, le costume faisait parti de mon cadeau de Noel, nous allons à un événement cet été où il faut être habillé vintage. Ce costume rouge Bordeaux m’a beaucoup plu et je trouvais qu’il irait bien pour cet été. C’est une couleur qui change du costume classique noir-bleu marine et je trouve que ça lui va bien ! Je n’ose même pas vous dire combien j’ai payé ce costume, que j’ai trouvé à…. Primark ! C’est un bon teste pour savoir si la couleur lui plaisait pour investir dans un « vrai » costume comme celui-là.

Cette séance était très sympa, j’étais comme une petite fille dans sa robe, elle a un peu souffert de la neige et la bouillasse mais bon c’était pour la bonne cause, je vais mettre ces photos dans un album, en souvenir de notre première année de jeunes mariés.

Pour ceux qui seraient intéressés, Sla et son mari Nick habitent l’hiver au Danemark et l’été en Grèce où ils font les séances photos de mariage dans les îles, leur site internet est magnifique, ils savent tous deux bien capturés l’émotion d’un couple. Pour les jeunes mariés, je recommande la séance « trash the dress » ou moins trash si on veut garder sa robe, ces petites séances permettent d’être plus détendues que le jour J et c’est un joli cadeau pour les 1 an de mariage 😉 !

J’ai désormais l’impression que j’ai fait tout ce que je voulais au niveau de mon mariage, la robe 4 en 1, l’été, le soleil sur ma peau, il me manquait l’hiver, la neige, le froid, et me blottir dans les bras de mon amoureux. Je garde encore la version courte pour cette été, et qui sait peut être de nouvelles idées d’ici là !!
