Virginie’s Bachelorette party :

 

Hello ! Today I want to share with you my wedding buddy’s bachelorette party ! Virginie and I known each other since 2007 when we went abroad with the Rotary International for a one year exchange. She went to Mexico and I went to Finland. We were friends on Facebook and saw each other after our gap year but we weren’t really friends. Not until last year when we found out we were going to get married in the summer 2015 in Bordeaux !

Virginie is a fly attendant and she used to live in Paris ( before moving back to Bordeaux few month ago) so we went all around Paris to try on wedding dresses together. Planning a wedding is a wonderful experience but planning it with someone in the same situation is even better ! We do have different taste but it’s fun to have our own personality and see how things go, she has been a great help during the wedding crisis, the list, the bridesmaids dresses issues stuff like that, when no one else understand except your wedding buddy who goes through the same things.

Now that the introduction has been made, let’s talk about her bachelorette party !

As you can see from the photos yellow is her color, she’s a sunshine princess.

I’m quite busy with my wedding planning but I still found some time to make a yellow cake and a yellow tulle skirt for the occasion, it was so nice seeing her twirling with the skirt around Bordeaux , I felt proud of my craft ! We had a girl sleepover, we made cocktails, drunk champagne, eat a great meal and the cake. The next morning we went to a eat a brunch at Karl and went to a spa, it was a perfect day !

For the cake I wanted to try something new, Virginie will not have a wedding cake for a wedding so I tried to make her one. The flavor was lemon, with homemade lemond curd for the filling, and a verveine infused syrup for the cake to be moist. I put cream cheese icing and fondant on top of it so it could be flawless (oh well almost J ). To decorate I made flower with almond paste.

Aujourd’hui je vais vous parler de l’enterrement-de-vie-de-jeune-fille-de-ma-copine-de mariage-Virginie. Je connais Virginie depuis 2007, notre année d’échange avec le Rotary. Nous sommes parties en même temps un an à l’étranger, elle au Mexique et moi en Finlande. Nous nous connaissions surtout de vue, à quelques réunions du Rotary. Jusqu’à ce que nous nous rendions compte il y a 1 ans et demi que nous vivions toutes les deux à Paris et surtout que nous nous marions en 2015 à Bordeaux !

Une bonne raison de plus amplement connaissance, Virginie est hôtesse de l’air, elle voyage beaucoup et nous profitions des week-ends où elle était à Paris pour faire les 400 coups ah ah. Nous avons fait plusieurs salon du mariage et surtout plein d’essayage Boulevard Magenta (pour celles d’entres vous qui connaissent)pour nos essayages de robes.

Voilà, maintenant que vous avez le contexte, parlons donc de cet EVJF ! La couleur du mariage est facile à deviner : Jaune, Virginie est la princesse du soleil J

Malgré mes préparatifs, j’ai voulu participer à ma façon à sa petite fête, j’ai donc confectionné un tutu en tulle pour cette journée et j’ai fait le gâteau pour le dessert. Pour le gâteau j’ai voulu changer et tenter un wedding cake au citron. Virginie n’aura pas de « wedding cake » à son mariage donc j’ai voulu tenter l’expérience. La génoise est au citron, avec du lemon curd maison entre les différences couches. Je l’ai imbibé d’un sirop à la verveine de mon jardin pour le rendre plus moelleux. Sur le dessus j’ai fait un glaçage au cream cheese et une couche de fondant pour le rendre bien lisse (ok il n’est pas lisse lisse par tout mais il était bon au moins J ).
