Hello !
As the wedding date is coming sooner and sooner, I’m getting everything ready as much as I can. The stressed bride is trying to not turn into a Bridezilla !
Bridal shower is not something common in France, most people don’t really know about it, some of my friend were really excited about getting a paper invite but when they called me, they admitted on the phone: « I’m so happy to see you again and have brunch with you but I have no idea what a Bridal Shower is 🙂 »
My neighbors are pretty old ladies and I invited them, so they ask my mom if it was a bachelorette party ah ah I would have been so much fun to invite my grandmas and neighbors to my bachelorette party, but no ladies, no Chippendales for the Bridal party !
As my color is pink pink pink, I picked pink envelops, and a shiny paper that I’ll be also using for the wedding invites, TMI here !
I chose a nice photo from the internet and mix all my pink paper to get to the perfect invite. It might sound tacky but since my Mom has no time for this kind of stuff and it’s my idea, I’m doing everything for this party, I wish it was like in the US where the mom or sister prepares everything for you but it’s not my case yet ( I’m preparing them so they can throw me the best baby shower one day ah ah)
So invites are sent, we will have a brunch at my mom’s place, and I’m now hunting for decoration for the shower and the wedding but I need to admit it, it does take a lot of time, but I love it !
As I lived in several places, I’m not catching up with my friends as much as I would like, so for my old high school friend this shower is the perfect way to take time to talk to them and enjoy some time with them before the wedding. I know most people say during your day time flies so fast and you don’t have time to eat or drink because you’ll be surrounded by people talking to you. But I love to eat ( and I want to enjoy the wine as well 🙂 so I try to meet my girls as much as I can before it so they is no frustration at the end of the day, for them because we haven’t had time to speak and for me because I didn’t fully enjoy my day with everyone.I’m also inviting my family in law, so they can also get to know each other better, they have already met of course but like for our little engagement party, it’s good for them to break the ice again before the wedding so on D-Day there is no shyness but a day full of laughter and good family time.
I think this bridal shower thing should be in every wedding, as I get to plan it I can’t stop thinking this is a essential part of the wedding, especially for the bride to be surrounded by her mother, sister, grandma and girls is the best thing ever ! And I can’t wait to share it with you as well 🙂
